On 11 May 2009 the former Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Competition Policy and Consumer Affairs, the Hon Chris Bowen MP, released for public consultation, a consultation paper entitled The Australian Consumer Law: Consultation on draft provisions on unfair contract terms.
